Position: Medical Coding Specialist
Job Description
As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for assigning appropriate medical codes to diagnoses and procedures in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes. This is a work from home position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a virtual setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Reviewing medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Communicating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed
- Maintaining productivity and quality standards in a remote work environment
Qualifications
- Certification in medical coding (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS, etc.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Excellent communication and organization skills
